Our lawn program has been tried and tested over many years. Every lawn has specific needs that vary from grass and soil type, to drainage and watering conditions. The treatments that we recommend are going to be the best available for your lawns unique conditions. The treatments applied in the fall and winter greatly impact the conditions in the growing season. We take pride in only recommending treatments that are necessary for the best results for your lawn
The short answer is no. Even golf courses that receive daily maintenance are not 100% weed free. Our program will reduce the weed pressure in your lawn with every application. There are many variables at play in controlling weeds. One piece of that puzzle is pre-emergent application in the fall and winter. Another piece is post emergent treatment at the time of your application.
Other considerations for weed control include rainfall and irrigation practices. Too much or too little water can stress your turf, leading to an increase in weed pressure.
Proper mowing height for your specific turf type is key for reducing lawn stress and weed pressure.
Growing healthy grass is our number one goal.
You can expect to see weeds in your new sod for a while after installation. Exactly what or how many you will see depends on many factors such as when you installed it. Many of our herbicides for weed control will hurt brand new sods ability to thrive. Remember, our number one goal is to grow healthy grass! Do not worry, the weeds will be taken care of as they emerge and as it is safe to treat them. Our pre-emergent applications are absolutely essential to get the best Spring and Summer weed control, but they are not safe for newly installed sod. Trust the process.
You can expect to see results within a few days of your service. Weeds will start dying and grass will green up. We use long lasting fertilizers that break down over time to give your lawn the slow release feeding that will keep it healthy long term.
Doveweed is a tough weed to kill. It requires several applications throughout the year and will take more than one growing season to eradicate. Here is a great local article regarding doveweed.
